About This Suno Na! Vanilla Dream Cake
A plain vanilla cake is the hardest thing to get right precisely because there's nowhere to hide. No ganache, no fruit, no bold spice — just sponge and buttercream, which means both have to actually be good. We use real Madagascar vanilla bean, scraped by hand, rather than vanilla essence, so the flavour is warm and complex rather than one-note sweet.
The buttercream is Swiss meringue style — whipped egg-free meringue base folded with butter until silky, which gives it a lighter, less cloying finish than standard American buttercream. It's the cake we recommend to anyone who says they "just want a normal cake done well."
