About This Gulaabi Rose Lychee Cupcakes
The Gulaabi cupcake was designed to be photographed before it's eaten — and then eaten immediately after. The sponge is rose-lychee flavoured: floral, faintly fruity, delicately sweet in a way that doesn't overwhelm. On top sits a tall spiral of rose-infused Swiss meringue buttercream, piped high in a single continuous swirl that holds its shape for hours.
The finish: dried rose petals scattered across the frosting and a piece of freeze-dried lychee perched at the crown. It's the kind of cupcake that makes a table look like a styled shoot. It's also the kind that makes people stop mid-sentence when they take a bite — because the flavour is as sophisticated as it looks.
